Branding Photography

Boost your online presence through powerful imagery

It's no secret that having photographs taken of yourself is not something everyone enjoys. But we all know we need them for our brand.

It's important when you decide you are ready for your shoot to choose a photographer you firstly, like their work and style. And secondly get on with them. You will be spending half a day if not longer with this person so if they aren't easy to get on with they probably wont be the right fit for you or your brand.

One of the important things when having your photographs taken is you want to get across your personality which is why it is important you feel comfortable and relaxed around your chosen photographer. You want to show your prospective clients you are a friendly and approachable.

You also need to bare in mind you may be attracting different clientele so you may need some shots looking more “serious” which will appeal the them. We capture as many different shots as possible to cover all these needs and carefully choose the background that will appeal to different markets.

Knowing how you are planning to use the photographs is vital in order for us to ensure we capture everything you will need. It also means we can plan to take different angles of one shot as you may want to use it for a banner, (panoramic), social media (square), website (rectangular). You may want to be able to add text to your photographs to send out a message. Knowing this upfront will help you and your photographer come up with a plan to be able to ensure everything you need is captured.

As well as making sure you capture everything you need, it is likely you will discover many different places along your route that will be great for a couple of shots. These aren't necessarily planned but tend to match your personality and message. As I was walking with one of my clients we discovered some great mosaic art along our route which really attracted to her personality, these shots certainly weren't “planned” but as we passed them we couldn't resist taking these shots as they will work great on her social media and website and they are so different to everyone else.

The last thing you want from a shoot is for your photographs to look like everyone else out there. You are unique and different from everyone so if you are struggling to decide where to do the shoot think about what you like to do that shows you as a person and that matches your brand message. If you are struggling, have a chat with your photographer, it's likely they will have plenty of ideas that will suit the messages you are planning to send.

The most important thing to remember is HAVE FUN! It's not everyday you get the honour of having your photographs taken. Enjoy yourself and be excited to see the end result. These are photographs for you to be proud of, they will help take your business to the next level.
